A few years ago, during perimenopause, I faced two big problems: Breast cancer and bad symptoms like trouble sleeping, anxiety, hot flashes…lost control of myself! Thank God breast cancer is behind me! I hadn't realised it was perimenopause. I changed my diet and overcame ALL the other symptoms - joint pain & stiffness, night sweats etc. But there was still a low level of constant anxiety.
Anxiety and panic attacks are what made me realise I was perimenopausal for sure. So of all my symptoms, anxiety was the huge one. I got to a point I could barely function, my anxiety, overwhelm and flat feeling was horrendous. I’ve been struggling.
I’m doing loads of walking & restarted my beloved mindfulness practice, which is so helpful. I will get more vigorous exercise in the plan next week & start doing more as when I do more normal stuff it really helps! I’m a registered Nutritional therapist & still wasn’t able to break this with diet & supplements alone. I think sometimes we just have to work through these things & they can take time. I’ve learnt a lot along the way though.
